Bereits eine Woche vor Weihnachten reist Michaela nach Wien und empf\u00e4ngt 23 Reiseg\u00e4ste die sie in den n\u00e4chsten drei Wochen auf dem Kreuzfahrtschiff MS Delphin als Reiseleitung betreut. Zuerst geht es mit dem Flieger nach Lissabon, wo am gleichen Tag noch die Einschiffung erfolgt. So reizvolle Orte wie Madeira, Kanaren, Kapverdische Inseln, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo oder Buenos Aires wird das Schiff auf der \u201eGro\u00dfen Weihnachts- u. Silvesterreise\u201c anlaufen.<\/p>\n

Michaela live: Meine kleine Reisegruppe hat sich als eine ganz fantastische Gruppe herausgestellt. Jeder Einzelne von ihnen hat es mir leicht gemacht, mein geliebtes Weihnachten mal nicht im Kreise der Familie feiern zu k\u00f6nnen. So wird die Zeit f\u00fcr meine G\u00e4ste sowie auch f\u00fcr mich an Bord der MS Delphin sehr abwechslungsreich, angef\u00fcllt mit interessanten Landg\u00e4ngen.<\/p>\n
<\/a>... MS Delphin vor Buzios-Brasilien<\/p><\/div>\n
Aber auch das Bordleben selbst \u2013 speziell an den Seetagen \u2013 ist ausgef\u00fcllt mit Aktivit\u00e4ten, Angefangen vom Morgenwecker \u00fcber Pilates\u00fcbungen, Joggen, Lichtbildvortr\u00e4gen \u00fcber die jeweiligen H\u00e4fen bis hin zu den Abendveranstaltungen. F\u00fcr diese waren verschiedene K\u00fcnstler\/ S\u00e4nger engagiert worden. W. Plathe bekannt aus der Serie der Landarzt, welcher mit humoristischen Texten und Liedern aufwartete, Hill Gutt, deren Reportaire von Hildegard Knef bis Zarah Leander ging, Randall Cooper der Broadwaymusicals und anderes mit einer engelsgleichen Stimme vortrug sowie ein Zauberer, genannt Kalibo, der so manchen Gast in Erstaunen versetzte.<\/p>\n

Zuerst dachte ich, drei Wochen auf dem Schiff und dann noch Weihnachten und Silvester dazu, das wird lange. Aber viel zu schnell verging die Zeit und ich mu\u00df sagen, trotz meiner Vorfreude auf Raimund und unserer S\u00fcdamerikareise, ging ich mit einem weinenden Auge von Bord. Nat\u00fcrlich weil ein Teil einer Reise die man unternimmt, immer auch die Menschen denen man begegnet ausmachen und ich hatte wieder viele wunderbare Menschen kennengelernt, mit denen ich auch hoffentlich noch in Zukunft in Verbindung bleiben werde.<\/p>\n
<\/a>\u2026 Samba-Show in Rio de Janeiro<\/p><\/div>\n
Am Freitag den 05. Januar war es dann so weit. Wir sollten all drei, Michaela mit dem Kreuzfahrtschiff, der Bus mit dem Container-Schiff und ich mit dem Flugzeug in Buenos Aires eintreffen. Es war ein langer Flug \u00fcber den Atlantik, mit Zwischenlandung und Umsteigen in Madrid. Um 6:30 Uhr argentinischer Ortszeit setzten die R\u00e4der der ins Alter gekommenen klapprigen Boing 747 der Aerolineas Argentinas auf. Nun gings weiter mit warten und sitzen. Ich wusste dass Michaela Ihre G\u00e4ste am gleichen Flughafen gegen mittags zum Einchecken bringt. Es funktioniert alles wunderbar. Ich sehe sie schon von weitem im anfahrenden Bus mit dem Schriftzug an der Frontscheibe \u201eMS Delphin – Aeropuerto\u201c. Jetzt sind wir schon zu zweit.
\nUnseren VW-Bus bekommen wir am Montag, da der Container erst entladen werden muss und der Zoll am Wochenende nicht arbeitet. F\u00fcr die drei N\u00e4chte haben wir uns in einen kleinen Hotel mitten im Zentrum der 14 Millionen Metropole einquartiert. Von hieraus erreichen wir die meisten Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten bequem zu Fu\u00df.<\/p>\n

Nachts kann man sich gefahrlos innerhalb des Zentrum bewegen. An jeder Ecke in den Stra\u00dfen sind Polizisten pr\u00e4sent. Ein wunderbarer Geruch der vielen Asado-Grills zieht durch die Stra\u00dfen. In den Monaten des S\u00fcd-Sommers sitzen die Hauptstadtbewohner weit bis in die Morgenstunden hinein im Freien, in einem der Cafes oder Resaurants und genie\u00dfen die tolle Athmosph\u00e4re ihrer Stadt. Wer schon mal in der Geburtsstadt des Tangos ist, sollte auf keinen Fall eine der vielen Tango-Shows vers\u00e4umen. Randy, der ein Arrangemente als S\u00e4nger auf der MS Delphin hat und Buenos Aires-Kenner ist, gab uns den Tipp bzw. besorgte uns Karten f\u00fcr das Teatro Piazzolla. Wir besuchen die Vorstellung mit ihm und weiteren Arbeitskollegen der MS Delphin und sind alle hellauf begeistert. Auch die \u201eNicht-Tanzbegeisterten\u201c (ich!!). An Wochenenden wird auf vielen Stra\u00dfen und Pl\u00e4tzen Buenos Aires Tango getanzt und gesungen.<\/p>\n
<\/a>... Nostalgie pur \u2013 Reininkarnation von Carlos Gardels<\/p><\/div>\n
Diese Stadt hat aber auch ein anderes Gesicht. Im S\u00fcden von Buenos Aires wuchert ein Armutsg\u00fcrtel mit Baracken aus Blech und Brettern. Viele haben kein Einkommen und kennen Leitungswasser und Kanalisation nur vom H\u00f6ren-sagen. Hier gibt es 20 Millionen Ratten. Der Zollhafen in dem unser VW-Bus entladen wird, liegt direkt gegen\u00fcber eines solchen Armutsviertels. So ist es nicht selbstverst\u00e4ndlich das jeder Taxifahrer uns zum Zollhafen f\u00e4hrt. Unser Hotelportier kennt die Problematik und besorgt uns einen zuverl\u00e4ssigen Fahrer. Da wir am Tag zuvor schon in der Stadt beim Zollamt den Papierkram erledigt hatten, folgte nun im Zollhafen der zweite Teil. Der Zollbeobachter bestellt uns f\u00fcr 10:00 Uhr in den Hafen. Er selbst erscheint gegen 15:30 Uhr.\u201eSchlimmstenfalls wollen einige Z\u00f6llner Geld\u201c wurden wir gewarnt. Rodriges, ein Argentinier der f\u00fcr unseren Spediteur Hamburg-S\u00fcd arbeitet, hilft uns bei den zu erledigenden Formalit\u00e4ten. Alle Besorgnisse sind umsonst. Der Feierabend des Zollbeamten war wohl nicht mehr weit, deshalb besichtigt er unser Fahrzeug nur kurz von au\u00dfen, macht die restlichen Papiere fertig und das wars.<\/p>\n
<\/a>\u2026 Buenos Aires - 14 Millionen Metropole<\/p><\/div>\n
Es ist bereits 16:30 Uhr. Wir wollen auf jeden Fall heute noch diese Megastadt verlassen. Es ist schon dunkel bei unserer Ankunft in San Clemente, ca. 160 km von Buenos Aires entfernt, einem Campingplatz am Meer. Jetzt brauchen wir nur noch Ordnung in unserem Bus zu schaffen. Alles wird nochmals ausgepackt und an den richtigen Platz einger\u00e4umt.<\/p>\n

Die Holzkiste mit den Ersatzteilen und den Bergewerkzeugen wird auf das Dach montiert. Michaela steigt aus \u201eStatikgr\u00fcnden\u201c aufs Dach und bekommt von mir Anweisungen. Nun kanns los gehen.<\/p>\n

Wir erreichen \u00fcber eine Querstra\u00dfe, die von der K\u00fcste ins Landesinnere f\u00fchrt, die Routa National No.3. Sie f\u00fchrt von Buenos Aires \u00fcber 3000 Kilometer durch Patagonien hindurch bis nach S\u00fcdfeuerland runter, nach Ushuaia oder wie man auch sagt: ans \u201eEnde der Welt\u201c. Tagelang fahren wir zuerst durch die Pampa. Ihre Gesamtfl\u00e4che ist so gro\u00df wie Frankreich und flach wie ein Pfannkuchen. Pampa bedeutet \u00fcbersetzt: Ebene, Flachland – Weite ohne Hindernis. Was dies bedeutet, haben wir erlebt<\/p>\n

Einsamkeit, Gleicht\u00f6nigkeit, Weite und nochmals Weite soweit das Auge reicht. Die Stra\u00dfe f\u00fchrt uns immer kerzengerade nach S\u00fcden. Die Sonne brennt, die Hitze des Asphalt flimmert am Horizont. Nicht selten steigt die Temperaturanzeige im Fahrzeuginneren auf 50 Grad Celsius. Die Felder und Weidenfl\u00e4chen mit ihren Rindern werden immer weniger je weiter wir nach S\u00fcden kommen. Dann die erste Lebensmittelkontrolle am Rio Colorado. Wir werden angehalten und m\u00fcssen unsere \u00c4pfel abgeben. Aus Angst vor Krankheiten darf kein Obst in die n\u00e4chste Region eingef\u00fchrt werden. Am Rio Negro dann eine weitere Kontrolle. Nun ist das Fleisch an der Reihe. Zum Gl\u00fcck haben wir nichts an Bord. Sp\u00e4ter bei einer weiteren Lebensmittelkontrolle sind unsere Tomaten f\u00e4llig. Langsam geht die Landschaft in eine Strauchsteppe \u00fcber. Keine H\u00e4user, keine Menschen, kein Baum – nichts.<\/p>\n
<\/a>... unendliche Weite<\/p><\/div>\n
Selbstfahrern nach S\u00fcden wird empfohlen stets Trinkwasser- u. Lebensmittelreserven sowie einen Ersatzkanister mit Treibstoff mit sich zuf\u00fchren und so oft es geht nachzutanken. Denn gerade in der Erntezeit kann es im ganzen Land Treibstoffmangel geben und Erntefahrzeuge werden dann bevorzugt betankt. Da kann es schon passieren das so mancher Tankstelle der Sprit ausgeht. So tanken wir meist auch wenn der Tank noch halb voll ist, um einfach sicherzugehen. \u00dcbrigens, zur Zeit kostet der Liter Diesel in Patagonien 0,35 Euro.<\/p>\n

Die Hitze der letzten Tage ist abgeklungen. Nun haben wir Probleme mit dem Wind. In dieser baumlosen Ebene kann an manchen Tagen der Wind die Erde mit bis zu 200 km\/h niederdr\u00fccken. Oft ist der Wind so stark, dass unser Bus noch nicht mal 80 km\/h erreicht. Wenn dann eine der wenigen geschotterten Querstra\u00dfen nach Osten f\u00fchrt und es bereits sp\u00e4tnachmittags ist, biegen wir ab, mit der Hoffung einen \u00dcbernachtungsplatz am Meer zu finden wo uns Sandd\u00fcnen dann etwas Windschutz geben.<\/p>\n
<\/a>... Nachtlager an der patagonischen Atlantikk\u00fcste<\/p><\/div>\n
Die meiste Zeit in dieser \u201etrostlosen\u201c Pampa h\u00e4ngen wir unseren eigenen Gedanken hinterher, wir philosophieren und es ist als ob diese 3000 km eine Vorbereitung f\u00fcr das spektakul\u00e4re \u201eEnde der Welt\u201c sein sollen.
\nEndlich dann kurz vor Feuerland steht Abwechslung auf dem Programm. Diese jedoch werden wir euch erst im n\u00e4chsten Reisetagebucheintrag verraten.
\nBis bald Michaela u. RaimundGonzo, is not moving away. He is our personal dog-watch and for sure one of the most faithful dog south of Rio Negro. We are here on a campground for two days to have a bit of rest after this long rides of the last days we did. In Camarones, a small fishing village we found a shady place under a Ombu-Tree.

Michaela is already a week before christmas travelling to Vienna, were she awaites 23 passengers, with whom she does a cruise on the MS Delphin as a tour-guide. First they fly to Lissabon, where they board the ship. Wonderful ports of call are on the list, like Madeira, Canarian Islands, Kap Verdian Islands, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo or Buenos Aires. The trip is called \u201eThe great Christmas and New Years cruise\u201c.<\/p>\n

My small travelgroup is a very spezial one. Every one of them makes it very easy for me, to miss this year my beloved christmastime in the midst of my family. The time on board of the MS Delphin is for my passengers and myself a most wonderful one, with lots of interesting Ports on the list.<\/p>\n

There is as well a good varity of attractions on board, especially on the days on sea. Starting with the wake up call \u2013 radio, different excercises like Pilates or jogging, slideshows of the different port of calls and as well the evening entertainment. For this there were different artist on board like W. Plathe, wellknown in Germany in a doctors-serie, which presented humoristic writings and songs, Hill Gutt, her reportaire is from Hildegard Knef to the great singer Zarah Leander, Randell Cooper, who did sing \u2013 with the voice of an angel \u2013 Broadwaymusicals and others and a magician, named Kalibo, who brought the passengers to big asstonishment.<\/p>\n

In the beginning I thought, three weeks will be a long time, especially since christmas and New Years eve will be included. But time did go by very quick and I really have to say, even I did already looked forward to Raimunds and my Southamerica tour, I did go off board with tears in my eyes. Certainly, since part of a journey is much depending on the people you meet during that time and I did meet most wonderful ones, whith whom I do hope, will be staying in contact as well in future.<\/p>\n

Fryday, 05th of January was Dday. All three of us, should arrive in Buenos Aires. Michaela with the cruise ship, our bus with the container and myself with the plane. It have been a very long flight al the way over the Atlantic, with a short Stopp in Madrid. At 6.30 am (Buenos Aires time) the aged Boing 747 of Aerolineas Argentina landed in Buenos Aires. Now I still had to sit and wait, since I waited for Michaela, who should arrive around lunchtime at the airport with her passengers. Well, already from far away I could see her in a bus with the sign in the front \u201eMS Delphin \u2013 Aeropuerto\u201c. Now we are already two of us. Our VW-Bus we will just get on Monday, since the cargoship first have to be reloaded and weekends the people from costums don\u00b4t work. For the next three nights we have ourselfes booked into a small Hotel in the middle of this 14 Million people Metropole. Most of the places of interest we can do on foot.<\/p>\n

You don\u00b4t have to hesitate walking during evening and nighttimes in the middle of this city. At all corners of the street there are police-man\/ woman. A fantastic smell make it\u00b4s way to our nose from the lots of Asado-Grills. In the month of summer in the south part of this world, people from Buenos Aires do sit till morning hours in one of the coffee-houses or restaurants and enjoy the great athmosphere of it. Who ever is in the birth-city of Tango, should not miss out one of the fantastic Tango-Shows. Randy, one of the artists of the MS Delphin and a person who loves and knows Buenos Aires very well, get tickets for us in the Theatro Piazzolla. We see a great performance there and enjoy the evening with him and other colleagos of the MS Delphin. Even that ones, which are not so much interested in dancing (like me!!) do enjoy it at it\u00b4s best.
\nOn Weekends at lots of places in the centre of Buenos Aires are performances of Tango and singing.<\/p>\n

But here in this city there is as well another side. The south part of Buenos Aires are the Slums. Lots of the people, which are living here do not have any work and have no drinkwater-pipelines. Over 20 Million of rats are sharing theire home. The costums harbour, where we get our bus is right next to this Slum-area. Therefor it is not so easy to get a taxi-driver, which drive us over to this part of the city. But the portier of our Hotel find us a reliable one. On the day before we already did the paper work for the costums, know we just have to pick up the bus. The costums officer asked us to be there at 10.00 am, he himself came at 3.30 pm. At our agency Hamburg-S\u00fcd they told us already, that in the worst case, the officer will ask us for some extra money. Rodriguez, one of emplyee of Hamburg-S\u00fcd did help us to work out all the papers which we needed. Well we are lucky, our costums officer already wants to finish work for today so he just have a quick look into our bus from outside and fix the rest of the papers. Everything done!!<\/p>\n
<\/a>... Buenos Aires - 14 Million Metropole<\/p><\/div>\n
It is already 4.30 pm. By no circumstances we want to stay any longer in this mega city. So we drive till St. Clemente, about 160 km far away at the coastline and south of Buenos Aires. It is already dark as we reach the camp ground there. Now we just have to fix the bus the next day, before we can start our journey. Everything is cleared out before it comes to it\u00b4s right position in the bus.<\/p>\n

The wooden box with the spare tools moves onto the roof of the bus. Michaela have to do this out of \u201eWeight-problems\u201c. Now we are ready and can go!<\/p>\n

We arrive over a small street the Routa National No.3. This street leads all the way from Buenos Aires over 3000 km through Patagonia down to Feuerland, to the town of Usuhaia or like people as well say \u201eTo the end of the world\u201c. Day after day we drive through the Pampa. The Pampa is as big as the country of France but flat like a pancake. The word Pampa means: plain \u2013 without obstacles. What that means \u2013 we\u00b4ve gone through.<\/p>\n

Emptiness, plain and again plain, so far as your eyes can catch it. The street is only straight on towards the South. The sun is very hot, it flickers on the Asphalt because of the heat. Very often the temperature in the bus is over 50 degrees celsius. The fields with the lots of cows in the beginning are getting more seldom so more we come south. Now we have our first control of foodstuffs on the Rio Colorado. We are stopped and have to leave here our apples which we had with us. They are worried about illnesses and therefor they don\u00b4t want us to carry them over to the next region of Argentinia. At the Rio Negro the next controll of foodstuffs, this time about beef. But we don\u00b4t carry beef with us. Later on at a next controll of foodstuff we have to give them the tomatoes.
\nSlowly but surely the landscape changes over to bushes. No houses, no people, no trees anymore.<\/p>\n
<\/a>... endless plain<\/p><\/div>\n
Traveller which are going South gets a recommandation, never to leave a place without enough drinkingwater, petrol and whereever it is possible to get more petrol. Especially in the time of harvest \u2013 which is now \u2013 it could be, that some of the petrolstations do not have enough petrol and if so the farmers get them priority to travellers. That\u00b4s the reason, whenever we see a petrol station we drive by even if our tank is just half empty. By the way the price for the petrol is 0,30 Euros.<\/p>\n

The heat of the last days is over. But now we have the problem with the wind. In this tree-less region the wind can be so strong that it blow up to 200 km\/h. Sometimes the wind is so strong that our bus does not reach the 80 km\/h. If then one of the very rare sidestreets is coming up and the day comes to an end, we drive into, with the hope that a fiew dunes at the seaside will bring us a bit of rest from the wind for the evening.<\/p>\n
<\/a>... Overnight at the patagonian Atlantik coast<\/p><\/div>\n
Most of the time in this endless Pampa we are lost in thoughts or philosophize and it seems that this 3000 km are a preparation for the spectaculare \u201eend of the world.
